Packing Day 2019 confirmed: Sunday 15th December
The Packing Day is when all the hampers are packed and toys are wrapped. Volunteers who wish to deliver hampers are allocated hampers and toy sacks to deliver to nominated families over the next few days leading up to Christmas Day. Over the years Melbourne Basket Brigade has successfully sent out thousands of hampers and Packing Day has garnered a loyal group of volunteers from across Melbourne and media attention. If you wish to join in the fun in the gift of giving, registrations for limited spots are open in October. Families and individuals are all welcome!
When: Packing Day is typically held on the first or second Sunday of December annually. Volunteer Sign-in commences at 10.00am, and vehicle loading for deliveries begins at 2:30 pm.
Where: Xavier College has been kindly supporting Melbourne Basket Brigade for many years and we will confirm which hall we will occupy later this year.
Register to volunteer: For safety reasons, volunteer attendance is strictly controlled via registration. An online registration form will be made available in November. Please use the Contact Us form to be added to the mailing list, or follow our Facebook page to keep track on the latest news. Everybody is welcome, you can come and pack hampers, wrap toys and deliver the hampers too – it’s really up to you.
