NSW – Sydney Basket Brigade
The Sydney Basket Brigade is part of The Magic Moments Foundation, a national non-profit organisation formed to create a community of caring volunteers who are committed to consistently reaching and assisting people who are often forgotten by society, and who might need to be reminded that someone cares about them. The Sydney Basket Brigade work with grassroot organisations to anonymously deliver baskets filled with food, clothing, toys and hope to those who need it most. It’s about making sure that Christmas is full of love for everyone.
How can you help us this year?
It’s the time and energy that all of our incredible supporters dedicate which makes everything that we do possible. Our goal for 2017 is to deliver 2000 baskets of food, toys and gifts. There are lots of ways you can help us.
- Basket Buddies – we’ve launched a new campaign this year!
Join us in adding one or two extra items to your grocery shop each week to put away enough goodies to fill a basket for a whole family in need. This is a great activity for everyone to get involved with! Click here to find out everything you need to know about becoming a Basket Buddy. - Calling all kindergartens and schools…
We’ve launched an exciting new set of activities aimed to inspire young people to care for others and encourage them to make a positive difference to the lives of other members of their community. - Make a cash donation – forego a fancy coffee this week and donate $5.

- Corporate week – are you looking for new team building activity for your team at work?
There’s lots to do to prepare for the big day so we are always looking for teams to come to the warehouse the week before packing day to help us sort the donations, decorate our boxes, wrap gifts and write Christmas cards. It could be a great activity for your team so click here to register your interest and we’ll get in touch with more information.
- Donate goods
If you or your company are able to donate bulk quantities of items for the baskets, we’d love to hear from you. Simply send us a message ([email protected]) and let us know what you’re able to donate. Tax receipts for goods are available.
- Donation stations – sign up to host a donation drive!
Host a food and gift drive at your company, in your building, on your street, or at your local community centre, club or school. It’s an incredible way to help and it’s the real backbone of Sydney Basket Brigade. In October, we’ll send you a pack with everything you need to run a top notch campaign. - Drivers we need you!
Could you help us collect the goodies from our donation stations and deliver them to our warehouse for sorting at the beginning of December? Click here to register your interest if you think you might be able to help.
- Volunteer – save the date!
Packing Day will be held on Saturday, 16 December 2017. Check out this video to see what happens on this day of incredible community spirit. We’ll open registration in early November. Stay tuned for more updates.
